Hire: Drew Holcomb and the Neighbors
Drew Holcomb & the Neighbors is an American band led by singer-songwriter Drew Holcomb. The group, founded in 2006, blends elements of Americana, folk, rock, and country in their music, known for its heartland sound and introspective lyrics. Hailing from Memphis, Tennessee, and later based in Nashville, the band’s music is influenced by Southern storytelling and soul, drawing from personal experiences, love, loss, and hope.
Early Beginnings
Drew Holcomb, the frontman, started his musical career after graduating from the University of Tennessee. Inspired by the music of Bob Dylan, Tom Petty, and Bruce Springsteen, Holcomb began writing songs that reflect life’s struggles, triumphs, and everyday beauty. The Neighbors originally included Drew’s wife, Ellie Holcomb, who contributed vocals and songwriting to the group until stepping back in 2015 to focus on her solo career and family life.
In 2009, Holcomb and his band toured heavily, and supported several national acts, including Susan Tedeschi, Ryan Adams, Los Lobos, The Avett Brothers, Robert Earl Keen, and Marc Broussard. In late 2009, the band appeared alongside Pat Green, Billy Joe Shaver, and Darryl Worley on the PBS TV show Legends and Lyrics.

Breakthrough and Albums
The band gained national recognition with their 2011 album Chasing Someday, which included the hit single “Live Forever,” widely used in TV shows, films, and commercials. Their follow-up albums, Good Light (2013) and Medicine (2015), continued to build their fanbase, with standout songs like “American Beauty” and “Shine Like Lightning.”
Throughout the majority of 2015, Holcomb jumped on the first two legs of the Tour de Compadres tour, formed by Needtobreathe and played with Colony House, Ben Rector, and Switchfoot.
In 2017, Souvenir was released, which brought a more introspective and mature sound. Their 2019 album, Dragons, was highly praised for its thematic exploration of family, faith, and life’s fleeting nature. The title track, featuring Lori McKenna, and other songs like “Family” reflect Holcomb’s personal journey, blending optimism with honest reflection.
On August 16, 2019, they released Dragons, which includes songs co-written by Lori McKenna, Natalie Hemby, Zach Williams of The Lone Bellow, producer Cason Cooley and Ellie Holcomb. It reached No. 1 on Billboard’s Folk Americana Album Sales Chart.
