Although less frequently requested, the following might be considered, also.
- A non-performance personal appearance.
An example would be to hire a celebrity to attend a private or corporate party as simply a (non-performing) guest to mingle with other guests, or to hire the celebrity to do a meet-and-greet at your party.
- A virtual performance.
A virtual performance is a live or recorded show—such as a concert, play, dance, comedy act, or other artistic presentation—that is broadcast or streamed online instead of being performed in front of a physical audience. Artists perform live from a studio, venue, or even their homes and stream the show on platforms like YouTube, Twitch, or Instagram Live. Essentially, a virtual performance brings entertainment to audiences through the internet rather than in-person venues.

Hire Gov’t Mule
Gov’t Mule (pronounced “Government Mule”) is an American Southern rock jam band, formed in 1994 as a side project of the Allman Brothers Band by guitarist Warren Haynes and bassist Allen Woody. Fans often refer to Gov’t Mule simply as Mule.
The band released their debut album, Gov’t Mule, in 1995 and have since released an additional nine studio albums, as well as numerous EPs and live releases.
Gov’t Mule has become a staple act at music festivals across North America, with both its members and frequent guests from other notable bands adding various funk and blues rock elements to the band’s sound.

Haynes and Woody had been part of the Allman Brothers circle for several years by 1994, when the duo jammed with drummer Matt Abts at a Los Angeles club after a local Allman Brothers Band gig in May of that year.
The trio remained in contact and continued to play when their busy schedules allowed it, as its members began to take the new project more seriously with each successive jam session.
At first, Haynes and Woody attempted to keep Gov’t Mule going along with their Allman Brothers Band duties, resulting in albums such as 1995’s self-titled debut and 1996’s “Live At Roseland Ballroom.” By April 1997, Haynes and Woody had both handed in their resignations to the Allmans and were now free to focus on Gov’t Mule full-time.
Hire Gov’t Mule.
In early 2000, just a few months after the release of “Life Before Insanity,” Woody was found dead in a New York City hotel room. Gov’t Mule was as much a brotherhood as it was a rock band. Haynes and Abts were left contemplating how to continue. They opted to carry on.
“When Woody passed away, we were kind of in the middle of preparing for what would be the next Gov’t Mule record anyway,” says Warren Haynes. “After Allen passed, we didn’t know how to continue that process. We didn’t want to start auditioning bass players to try to find a permanent replacement. So, the idea came about that all of our favorite bass players might be too busy to join the band or even do a whole tour, but maybe they wouldn’t be too busy to do one song.”
– Hire Gov’t Mule. –
So, Gov’t Mule brainstormed a lengthy list of bassists whom they most respected and who had most influenced Woody musically and invited them all to collaborate with the band on its next album. They were unaware of what the response would be, considering the logistical challenges involved – and were overwhelmed when the vast majority of these musicians replied that they were eager to take part in the project.
Gov’t Mule wound up recording more than two full albums’ worth of material.
Hits include:
- Drivin’ Rain
- Bad Little Doggie

- Soulshine
- Mule
- Wandering Child
- Slow Happy Boys

How is the fee of Gov’t Mule determined?
✅ Gov't Mule fee determination
Gov’t Mule’s manager determines the artist’s concert fee (also known as a guarantee) by evaluating a combination of business, market, and logistical factors.
Here’s a breakdown of key elements considered:
1. Gov’t Mule’s Popularity and Demand
-
Ticket Sales History: How many tickets they’ve sold recently in the same market or similar ones.
-
Streaming & Radio Metrics: Spotify/Apple Music numbers, YouTube views, Shazam stats, radio spins.
-
Social Media Following & Engagement: Followers, reach, and how active and loyal the fan base is.
2. Market Strength
-
City or Region: Artists can command higher fees in cities where they are more popular.
-
Venue Size: Bigger venues mean more ticket sales and higher potential revenue.
-
Local Competition: Is the artist competing with other events nearby on the same date?
3. Gov’t Mule Touring Expenses
-
Band & Crew Payroll: Salaries, per diems, union rates.
-
Production Costs: Lights, sound, transportation, backline, hotel, security, etc.
-
Travel: Flights, buses, fuel, lodging. Fees are often higher for more distant or logistically complex locations.
4. Type of Event
-
Hard Ticket Show: The artist is the main draw; ticket sales drive revenue. The fee is based on expected gross revenue minus expenses.
-
Festival or Fair: Often pay higher flat fees as the event assumes ticket risk.
-
Corporate or Private Event: Typically, higher pricing due to exclusivity and often minimal promotional benefit.
5. Promoter Offer and Negotiation
-
The manager evaluates received offers and may negotiate elements to modify the fee or reduce expenses.
-
Promoters/Private Buyers typically present a formal offer sheet that includes:
-
Guarantee (flat fee): Minimum the artist gets paid.
-
Backend or Bonus: Extra earnings based on ticket sales after breakeven. (Typically, this is not applicable to private/corporate events.)
-
Expenses: Travel, accommodations, hospitality, etc.
6. Comparing Fees
-
Managers often compare fees of similar-level artists to stay competitive in pricing.
7. Gov’t Mule Routing Considerations
-
If the date fits smoothly into a larger tour routing, they might accept a lower fee.
-
If it’s a one-off or out-of-the-way show, the fee might be higher to justify the extra time and effort.
