Although less frequently requested, the following might be considered, also.
- A non-performance personal appearance.
An example would be to hire a celebrity to attend a private or corporate party as simply a (non-performing) guest to mingle with other guests, or to hire the celebrity to do a meet-and-greet at your party.
- A virtual performance.
A virtual performance is a live or recorded show—such as a concert, play, dance, comedy act, or other artistic presentation—that is broadcast or streamed online instead of being performed in front of a physical audience. Artists perform live from a studio, venue, or even their homes and stream the show on platforms like YouTube, Twitch, or Instagram Live. Essentially, a virtual performance brings entertainment to audiences through the internet rather than in-person venues.

aka: PPL
Members:
John David Call, Jared Camic, Jeff Zona, Scott Thompson, Randy Harper
Pure Prairie League (PPL) was formed in Waverly, Ohio, in 1969. The band drew its name from a 1939 western movie starring Bette Davis, aligning with the group’s country-rock aesthetic. Their early lineup featured Craig Fuller, George Powell, and John David Call, blending rock, country, and folk influences to craft a unique sound. Initially, the band played local gigs before signing with RCA Records.
Breakthrough Album: “Bustin’ Out” (1972)
The band’s second album, Bustin’ Out, gained critical acclaim despite lukewarm commercial success at first. It featured their most famous song, “Amie,” written by Craig Fuller. This track became a defining hit for the group, eventually finding significant airplay on FM radio and earning the band a loyal fan base. Fuller’s departure shortly after this album due to draft-related issues marked a turning point for the band.

Shifting Lineups and Continued Success (1974–1979)
Following Fuller’s departure, PPL underwent numerous lineup changes but retained their signature sound. Albums such as Two Lane Highway (1975) and Dance (1976) featured collaborations with notable artists, including Chet Atkins and Emmylou Harris. This period solidified PPL’s reputation in the country-rock genre.
Vince Gill Joins the Band (1978–1982)
A significant chapter in PPL’s history began when Vince Gill, future country superstar, joined the band in 1978. Gill brought a new dynamic to the group, contributing lead vocals and guitar. His presence elevated albums like Can’t Hold Back (1979) and Firin’ Up (1980), with hits like “Let Me Love You Tonight” showcasing his smooth vocal style.
Decline and Hiatus (1983–1998)
By the early 1980s, shifting musical trends and internal changes led to the band’s decline in mainstream popularity. After releasing Something in the Night in 1981, PPL disbanded in 1983. However, their music continued to resonate with fans, and their classic tracks remained staples on classic rock and country radio stations.
Reunion and Later Years (1998–Present)
PPL reunited in the late 1990s, with Craig Fuller returning to the fold. They began touring extensively, delighting fans with both classic hits and new material. The band released All in Good Time in 2005, their first studio album in over two decades. Their enduring appeal has kept them active on the touring circuit, cementing their legacy in the country-rock genre.
Legacy and Influence
Pure Prairie League is regarded as a pioneering band in the country-rock movement. Their timeless hits like “Amie” and “Let Me Love You Tonight” continue to inspire new generations of musicians. With their seamless fusion of country and rock, PPL paved the way for later bands in the genre.
