In June 2023, he performed at Glatonsbury along with others, including Guns N’ Roses, Elton John, Arctic Monkeys, Blondie, Lana Del Ray, Foo Fighters and The Chicks. At the festival, Rick Astley and the band Blossoms performed covers by the Smiths. The Guardian gave the performances positive reviews, suggesting that they offered fans a way to enjoy the Smiths without the “moral queasiness” of the Smiths singer.
