Horan cited Michael Bublé as one of his biggest influences because they had similar life histories, as Bublé‘s vocal talent was discovered by his aunt, and the same thing happened to Bublé, except his talent was discovered by his father.
At the beginning of his career, he saw Justin Bieber as a career model. Horan is also inspired by the work of classic rock veterans like The Eagles, Fleetwood Mac, and Bruce Springsteen.
