Hire: Lorrie Morgan
Loretta Lynn Morgan (born June 27, 1959) is an American country music singer and actress. She is the daughter of George Morgan, widow of Keith Whitley, and ex-wife of Jon Randall and Sammy Kershaw, all of whom are also country music singers.
Lorrie Morgan has been active as a singer since the age of 13 and charted her first single in 1979. She began her career as a chorus performer in stage shows at Opryland amusement park while she sang demos for Nashville songwriters.
Because of her dedication to the Grand Ole Opry, Lorrie Morgan was invited to become a member in 1984, long before she released her platinum-selling debut album “Leave the Light On” in 1989. Her next two albums, “Something in Red” (1991) and “Watch Me” (1992) were also certified platinum and sent Morgan on a dizzying rise to stardom.

The 1995 compilation Reflections: Greatest Hits is her best-selling album with a double-platinum certification; War Paint, Greater Need, and Shakin’ Things Up, also on BNA, are certified gold.
Lorrie Morgan has made more than 40 chart entries on the Billboard Hot Country Songs charts, including three number-one singles.
Morgan has recorded in collaboration with her father, as well as Whitley, Randall, Sammy Kershaw, Frank Sinatra, Johnny Mathis, Tammy Wynette, The Beach Boys, Dolly Parton, Andy Williams, the New World Philharmonic, and Pam Tillis.
She is also a member of the Grand Ole Opry. Morgan’s musical style is defined largely by country pop influences and her dramatic singing voice.

Morgan’s next album, Greater Need, was released in 1996. Leading off the singles was the Jon Randall duet, “By My Side”, which became Randall’s only top 40 hit.
The album’s last single, “Good as I Was to You”, reached number four in 1997. Lorrie Morgan said that she wanted the album to show her “maturing musically” over her previous works.
She noted that she realized the song was indicative of the musical themes she wanted to pursue on the album. The album included guest vocals from Vince Gill, Travis Tritt, and her son, Jesse Keith Whitley. Contributing musicians included Dann Huff, Paul Franklin, Billy Joe Walker Jr., Glenn Worf, Alison Krauss, and former Toto member David Hungate.

Recognized as a creative force in music videos, Lorrie Morgan charted eight number one videos at CMT. Praise from her peers and fans followed, and Morgan earned nine industry awards, including four wins as Female Vocalist of the Year (1994, 1996, 1997, 1998).
She made countless appearances on major network television shows, including “The Late Show with David Letterman“, “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno“, and “Good Morning America“, among others.
