Sarah Brightman (born 14 August 1960) is an English classical crossover soprano singer, actress, and dancer.

Sarah Brightman sings in many languages, including English, Spanish, French, Latin, German, Italian, Russian, Hindi, Mandarin, and Japanese. She has more than 160 Gold and Platinum awards in 34 countries.

She has had more than 30 million albums sold worldwide.

Brightman’s 1996 duet with the Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli, “Time to Say Goodbye”, topped the charts all over Europe and became the highest and fastest-selling single of all time in Germany, where it stayed at the top of the charts for 14 consecutive weeks and sold more than three million copies. It subsequently became an international success, selling 12 million copies worldwide, making it one of the best-selling singles of all-time.

In 1997, Brightman released the album Timeless/Time to Say Goodbye. It remains Brightman’s biggest-selling album. It went gold, platinum, and/or multi-platinum in 21 countries, selling more than 1.4 million copies in the US, and topped the Billboard Top Classical Crossover Albums chart in the US for 35 weeks.
