Run the Jewels, also known by the initials RTJ, is an American hip-hop super-duo composed of Brooklyn-based rapper and producer El-P and Atlanta-based rapper, Killer Mike.
In 2013, they released their critically acclaimed self-titled debut studio album as a free download. The album charted on Billboard charts such as Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums and Top Rap Albums, while their sophomore studio album appeared on the aforementioned charts, the Billboard 200 and the Belgian Ultratop Flanders chart.

In 2014, they released the follow-up album Run the Jewels 2. A light-hearted remix album composed entirely of cat sounds titled Meow the Jewels was released on September 25, 2015. Proceeds from the album went entirely to charity.
In 2016, Run the Jewels 3, their third studio album, which is also their most successful, charted in eight countries, including the United States, Australia, and the United Kingdom. The album was also their first number one on the Billboard hip-hop album chart, and it peaked in the top 50 in Ireland and the Netherlands, the top 40 in Australia, Belgium, Canada, and the United Kingdom, the top 30 in Scotland, and the top 15 in the United States.

On January 30, 2015, Run the Jewels supported Jack White at Madison Square Garden. Also in early 2015, it was announced that the band would perform at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival with others, including Jack White, Drake, AC/DC, Florence & the Machine, Tame Impala, St. Vincent, Ryan Adams, Interpol, Belle & Sebastian, Alt-J, and The Weeknd.
In June of 2015, they performed at the Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival, along with others including Glass Animals, Ben Harper, Tears For Fears, Kacey Musgraves, Ben Folds, Hozier, My Morning Jacket, X Ambassadors, Twenty-One Pilots, Florence and the Machine, Billy Joel and Brandi Carlile.

On March 22, 2020, Run the Jewels released “Yankee and the Brave (ep.4)” as the first single from RTJ4. Four days later, they released the second single, “Ooh LA LA”. It was their first album to be officially titled under its abbreviated name, as opposed to the formatting of previous albums, which would have rendered the title Run the Jewels 4.
Their discography includes four studio albums, two remix albums, and fifteen singles.
