From a young age, he showed an interest in music, beginning with piano lessons at the age of four. By the time he was 12 years old, he was inspired by Dutch DJs like Tiësto and started exploring electronic dance music (EDM).
At 14, Hardwell signed a record deal with Digidance, leading to the release of his first official compilation, Bubbling Beats Vol. 1. This early exposure to the music industry helped him refine his style and gain experience in music production and DJing.
Breakthrough in EDM (2009-2012)
Hardwell‘s breakthrough moment came in 2009 when he released his bootleg remix of “Show Me Love vs. Be”, which became a viral hit in the EDM scene. The track garnered international attention and was played by major DJs across the globe.
