Fuerza Regida is a Mexican American regional Mexican band from San Bernardino, California. Fuerza Regida, which means “strength” and “govern,” officially became a group in March 2015, starting off as a local cover band who added East LA flavor to their music.
In 2018, Fuerza Regida toured Southern California and Northern Mexico, and their bouncy, outlaw stage presence, consummate musicianship, and youthful good looks got the quartet massive exposure on radio, television, Instagram, and Twitter. Their video for the song “Sigo Chambeando” also included musicians from Legado 7 and racked up more than 100 million views on its own that November.

“In the beginning, we performed at many flyer parties, and people would stop what they were doing to pay attention to our set,” frontman Jesus Ortiz tells Billboard. “After nearly two years, we started noticing that we had fans outside of our city and that our music began sounding in Los Angeles. We got really happy.”
Ortiz recalls the first time Fuerza Regida went viral.
“What really got us out there was a song that I wrote, called ‘Radicamos en South Central.’ It really opened the doors for us,” he says. “Thanks to that song, Ramon Ruiz from Legado 7 discovered us and we got signed to two labels: his Lumbre Music and Rancho Humilde.”

In November 2022, Fuerza Regida released a cover of the song “Chuy y Mauricio”, titled “Chrysler 300”, originally performed by Los Canelos de Durango but popularized by El Potro de Sinaloa.
In December 2022, together with Natanael Cano, they released the hit, “Ch y la Pizza”, a song with references to drug trafficking in Mexico and mainly directed at “La Chapiza” – hence the name of the song – which is a way of naming to the criminal group that serves the children of Mexican drug lord, El Chapo. The bosses of Iván Archivaldo Guzmán Salazar and Ismael Zambada García are also mentioned, and the theme of Santería is also touched on in a verse sung by Cano, a religion to which he explained that he was not a participant and that at the time of recording the song he had disputes with Ortíz Paz for not wanting to use the phrase.
The song was trending on YouTube, TikTok, Facebook, and Spotify. The music video accumulated 1.2 million views on its first day, making it the sixth most viewed video globally on its opening day. It reached positions on charts such as number 68 on the Billboard Hot 100, number 39 on the Billboard Global 200, and number 9 on Hot Latin Songs, while it was top 10 in Mexico.
2023 saw the band collaborate with Grupo Frontera on the Billboard-charting hit “Bebe Dame” and “Pariente” with Myke Towers. Later that year, they issued the studio album, Pa Las Baby’s y Belikeada.
Fuerza Regida‘s songs focus on the hardships, joys, and sufferings of urban Latinos. Their discography includes eight studio albums, four live albums, three extended plays, and 73 singles.
