In 2007, Dutch DJs Willem van Hanegem Jr. and Wardt van der Harst met and formed the duo W&W. They began their careers producing trance music, gaining early recognition with their debut single “Mustang.” Their unique blend of uplifting and melodic elements quickly garnered support from prominent figures in the trance community.
Transition to Big Room House and Mainstream Success (2013-2016)
After five years in the trance scene, W&W founded their own record label, Mainstage Music, in 2012. They then transitioned to big room house, achieving commercial success with tracks like “Bigfoot” in 2014. Collaborations with artists such as Hardwell on “Jumper” and Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike on “Waves” further solidified their presence in the electronic dance music (EDM) scene.
On 24 February 2014, they released their remix of “U” by Gareth Emery, reaching the 6th position of the Beatport top 100.
On 15 April 2016, the duo’s remix of “Don’t Let Me Down” by The Chainsmokers and Daya was released. Together with The Chainsmokers, they premiered the song’s remix at the Ultra Music Festival in Miami.
On 1 June they released their remix of “Needed Me” by Rihanna, with trap influences.
