The Offspring is often credited—alongside fellow California punk bands Green Day, NOFX, Bad Religion and Rancid—for reviving mainstream interest in punk rock in the 1990s.
Long before there was the OC, The Warped Tour or even X Games, there was The Offspring, formed by a pair of Orange County high school buddies back in ’84 following a show in Irvine by local legends Social Distortion.
In 2008, The Offspring co-headlined the Australian Soundwave Festival alongside Incubus and Killswitch Engage. Also in 2008, The Offspring headlined X-Fest along with others including Pennywise, Jimmy Eat World, MGMT and The Material.

In 2009, they toured North America on their Shit is Fucked Up tour from May through July with Dropkick Murphys, Alkaline Trio, Street Dogs, Pennywise, Shiny Toy Guns, Sum 41, and Frank Turner.
In 2010, The Offspring performed at X-fest for a second time along with other artists such as 311, Cake, Unwritten Law, Pepper, Neon Trees, and Civil Twilight.
