Michael Ian Olmo, known professionally as Iann Dior, is an American rapper, singer, and songwriter.
Iann Dior is most notably well-known for his 2020 hit single “Mood”, a collaboration with fellow American rapper 24kGoldn. The song peaked at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 and became his first and highest-charting song to date.

That same year Iann Dior released the pop-punk track, “Sick and Tired”, featuring Machine Gun Kelly and Travis Barker, the EP’s second single.
In 2021, Iann Dior was featured as the lead vocalist for the single “Higher” by British electronic music group Clean Bandit. The song peaked at number 67 on the Irish Singles Chart and number 66 on the UK Singles Chart. He then collaborated with American DJ and record producer Illenium on another single “First Time”.
On March 12, 2021, “First Time” charted at number 23 on the US Hot Rock & Alternative Songs and number 21 on the Official New Zealand Music Chart. Two weeks later, Iann Dior was featured on the remix of the 2020 hit song “Heat Waves” by British indie rock band, Glass Animals.

In discussing his process, Iann Dior reveals that the dreamy and fluid feel of his music has much to do with his purely instinctive creative approach. “Anytime I hear a beat that I love, it’ll bring out the story I want to tell,” he says. “I’ll start humming the melody and the words will follow that — it’s all just whatever comes out of my head right in the moment.”
At the same time, Iann Dior‘s lyrics mine inspiration from the reflective, narrative-based songwriting of artists like J. Cole. “The whole reason I started making music was J. Cole,” Iann points out. “He showed me that I could use songs to tell my own story, just like he uses his songs to tell his story.
