In April 2012, RL Grime released his debut EP, “Grapes,” on the WeDidIt label. The EP featured four original tracks and remixes by artists such as Shlohmo, Salva, and LOL Boys. He gained significant attention in June 2012 with a collaborative remix of Kanye West‘s “Mercy” alongside producer Salva, which amassed more than eight million plays on SoundCloud.
Later that year, his remix of Benny Benassi‘s “Satisfaction” reached the top five on Beatport’s Electro House chart.
Annual Halloween Mixes
Starting in October 2012, RL Grime began releasing annual Halloween mixes, blending original productions with popular remixes. These mixes have featured guest appearances from celebrities like Tony Hawk, Pharrell Williams, Hannibal Buress, Shaquille O’Neal, Guy Fieri, and author R.L. Stine, whose name inspired Steinway’s stage moniker.
Breakthrough with “High Beams“
In July 2013, RL Grime released the “High Beams” EP through Fool’s Gold Records. The five-track project included collaborations with producer Salva and Los Angeles rapper Problem. The EP debuted at number one on the iTunes Electronic Chart and reached number eight on Billboard’s Dance/Electronic Albums chart.
